African Cats
On Friday, April 29, 2011 we went to see African Cats. We absolutely loved it! We noticed that even though it is a documentary, it follows a typical story structure. It actually has two story lines for each of the African Cats (lions & cheetahs) featured in the film! Click the links below to view our summaries of the film as well as our opinions.

CRRA
In the spring, the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority (CRRA) came to visit at our school. The 3rd Graders had the opportunity to participate in a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink Activity. While playing they learned what materials can be recycled, why they can be recycled, & what the materials are made of.
A few weeks later, we went to the Recycling Center where we were able to see the workers sorting & sifting through all of the recyclables. |
The Tale of Despereaux
The 3rd & 4th grade read aloud The Tale of Despereaux. While reading, we visualized, inferred, synthesized, & connected. After completing the book we viewed the movie. |
