Facts: Some animals travel incredible distances. Arctic terns migrate 24,000 miles each year, from the Arctic to the Antarctic, & back. With long wings for their body size, Arctic terns are great flyers. Gray whales travel 26,000 miles a year. This translates into 115 miles a day. Monarch butterflies travel 50 - 100 miles a day during their migration to Mexico.
